Improving the Health of Our Communities

At UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, our hospitals throughout Chicago’s western suburbs are committed to uplifting others and improving the health of our communities.

Every three years, we conduct Community Health Needs Assessments to determine the major needs in our area. This data is then used to develop a Community Health Plan for each hospital to improve residents’ health through education, research, financial assistance, special programs and spiritual resources. These services, referred to as community benefits, are offered without regard to profit.

Community benefits are programs or activities that provide treatment and/or promote health and healing as a response to identified community needs. They increase access to healthcare and improve community health. We work with a wide range of community partners to help meet the needs of our communities.
