There's no medicine quite like a great support system. When you visit a family member or friend in the hospital, you lift their spirits and help them heal in more ways than one. And because you're an important part of your loved one's recovery, we’ll support your comfort and well-being, too.
We welcome your visit to UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks and are taking steps to ensure your safety while you’re here. Our GlenOaks hospital visiting hours are 10 am to 8 pm daily unless otherwise noted. To be prepared before you arrive, learn about our hospital parking, dining options, pharmacy care and more.
Our Visitor Services
- General Visiting Guidelines

- Visiting hours are 10 am to 8 pm daily.
- All visitors are to enter the main entrance and check in with the front desk.
- Minor visitors under 12 years of age shall be accompanied by an adult.
- All visitors are expected to comply with hand hygiene. Visitors should not visit if they have any symptoms of respiratory or other viral illness, as well as those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
- No overnight visitors. Limited exceptions on a case-by-case basis for:
- Labor and Delivery
- Pediatrics
- End of Life Care – Due to space limitations, 4 visitors at a time, with no maximum number of visitors per day.
Special Guidelines in Place for our Inpatient Behavioral Health Department
- Visiting Days are Tuesday and Wednesday, 3 pm – 4 pm. Limit 1 visitor per patient 18 years or older.
- No food or beverage items.
- Personal items are not allowed on the unit (purses, coats, cell phones, etc.).
Please note that smoking and vaping are not allowed at any of our facilities.

The UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks Café provides various options during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Soups, salads and desserts are available between meals.

There are moments in life when we need someone to attend to our spiritual well-being. If you, or a patient you’re visiting, would benefit from prayer or spiritual guidance, help is always available at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks.
You can call us at any time of the day to request a visit from a chaplain. They are on-call 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and are ready to support you and your loved ones. To request a visit from a UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks chaplain, ask your nurse or call Call630-545-8000.
Our spiritual services include:
- Bedside visits and prayers
- Grief support groups
- Healing art and music
- Referrals to community clergy
- Spiritual guidance, counseling and crisis ministry
- Worship services in our chapel
We can also help facilitate advance directives and medical and ethical decision-making.
- Pharmacy

The UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks pharmacy offers all of the services of a retail chain pharmacy but with quicker and more personalized care that’s focused on the needs of hospital patients. However, you don’t need to be a hospital patient to receive pharmacy services. Our pharmacy accepts most insurance plans.

Our pharmacy services include:
- Bedside delivery (meds-to-beds) upon discharge
- Communicating with your healthcare providers
- Computerized, personal patient profiles
- Home delivery of medications
- Immunizations
- Maintenance medications via mail (90-day supplies)
- Patient and family medication education
- Prescription transfers
- Prescriptions and refills
- Providing information on Medicare Part D
- Reviewing for drug-drug and drug-disease interactions
