Asthma and Allergy Treatments That Find Answers and Relief
Our treatment plans aren’t one-size-fits-all. Through diagnostic tests, an extensive medical history review and physical exams, we’ll get to the root of your symptoms and design a custom care plan that’s just right for you.
- Allergy Shots
-
If you struggle with environmental allergies, allergy shots work to desensitize your body to these allergens. Our providers will help you understand if allergy shots are right for you.
- Comprehensive Allergy Testing
-
Our experts offer a variety of allergy tests that can give us a better understanding of what’s causing your symptoms. We offer:
Scratch/Prick Testing
With this type of test, a variety of environmental and food allergens are applied to the skin and can determine if you’re reactive to them and how severe that allergen is for you. This is also how we perform latex testing.
Intra-Dermal Testing
An alternative method of allergy testing, intra-dermal testing involves injecting an allergen under the surface of your skin. This is a more invasive type of scratch/prick testing, but it allows us to better understand your allergies.
Patch Testing
This is a form of testing for allergies to chemicals and metals such as nickel. A patch is placed on your back for 48 to 72 hours (about two to three days) and then evaluated by one of our providers.
Venom Testing
Venom testing is similar to being evaluated for environmental allergens. Through lab or skin testing, we can determine if you fit the criteria to get venom allergy shots. This will help desensitize you to that specific insect venom.
- Food and Drug Challenges
-
Challenges help us gauge your reaction to medications or foods. Your provider will dose out the food or drug they suspect you’re allergic to over the course of a few hours or days to see if you experience any reaction.
- Breathing Tests
-
Our team performs several breathing tests, including:
- Exhaled nitric oxide (NIOX) test: to help us determine if and how much inflammation you may have in your lungs
- Spirometry breathing test: to determine how well your lungs can consume and expel air
Both tests can give us answers and insights to help craft and tailor your asthma treatment plan to your unique needs.
- Biologic Therapies
-
We offer several types of biologic injection therapies, including:
- Xolair: to help treat moderate to severe asthma, chronic hives and nasal polyps
- Dupixent: to help treat atopic dermatitis, moderate to severe asthma, nasal polyps and eosinophilic esophagitis (EOE)
- Fasenra: to help treat eosinophilic asthma
- Nucala: to help treat severe eosinophilic asthma and nasal polyps
- Intravenous Immune Globulin (IVIG) Therapy
-
If you’re struggling with antibody deficiencies or an autoimmune condition, IVIG therapy may be a solution for you. This therapy is designed to help balance your immune system, and our team of experts will work with you to understand if it’s right for you.
