Tips for a Successful Video Visit
- Conduct the video visit in a well-lit room so your provider can see you
- Set the camera at eye level
- Turn off your television or music to reduce background noise
- Make sure the space is private, so you can discuss personal medical information
- Write down any questions for your provider before the visit
- Have a paper and pen ready to take notes
- Have your doctor’s office phone number handy
- Close any unnecessary programs on your device
If you’re logging on to your visit with your web browser, you can also test your device prior to the visit to make sure that your internet, microphone and camera are working correctly.

If you’re experiencing mild or moderate COVID-19 symptoms, a video visit can help you get the care you need.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the most common symptoms of coronavirus include:
- Cough
- Fever
- Shortness of breath
The CDC classifies severe COVID-19 symptoms as:
- Bluish lips or face
- New confusion or inability to arouse
- Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
- Trouble breathing
If you develop any of these emergency warning signs of COVID-19, call 911, and seek attention immediately.
