Pharmacy Residency Programs

The goal of the UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Pharmacy Residency is to provide exceptional and affordable pharmaceutical care that enhances patient access, outcomes and experience through partnership with healthcare providers across the healthcare continuum.

The mission of the Pharmacy Department is to transform medication management for whole person health.

Community-Based Pharmacy Residency

The UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Bolingbrook PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency provides professional development at a health system outpatient pharmacy with a Specialty Pharmacy focus. The resident has the opportunity to rotate through various outpatient specialty and chronic disease management clinics. The resident will develop and implement sustainable pharmacy-driven outpatient clinical services, optimize patient care outcomes by medication therapy management and drug education, practice leadership and develop independent learning skills.

Traditional Pharmacy Residency

Our UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange PGY-1 Traditional Pharmacy Residency program provides professional health system experience at a Magnet Status acute care community teaching hospital.

Our program empowers each resident to be exceptionally competitive for a variety of career pathways, including board certification eligibility, PGY2 pharmacy residency training, clinical specialist roles and leadership roles within pharmacy practice.

Residents are members of a multidisciplinary team optimizing direct patient care outcomes through core, longitudinal and elective rotations including, but not exclusive to, emergency medicine, infectious disease, medication safety, practice management and research. Each resident's experience is individualized to meet their personal learning goals.
