Growing in Leadership and Service
Our junior board members participate in activities that foster community well-being while building skills to last a lifetime. They gain valuable life experience while contributing to our mission of offering leading-edge, whole-person healthcare in Hinsdale.
-
Volunteerism
Each year, the junior board staffs the hospital’s Ice Cream Social. This event provides multiple volunteer opportunities, including ice cream services, art projects and face painting.
The Junior Board will also participate in the Medical Mission Clinic, serving uninsured people.
-
Service Projects
At Hinsdale Family Residency Medical Center (HFMC), the junior board members manage a diaper and wipe drive for families in need who seek medical care at HFMC — many of whom are single mothers. In 2022, we collected more than 150 packages of diapers and wipes.
Additionally, our junior board donated $25,000 to our hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit renovation in 2022.

Leadership
Students appointed to the executive committee grow in leadership development. At this level, members learn event planning and strategy, how to manage volunteers and how to run meetings.
