Preceptor
Dr. McGowen is a part-time faculty member. She has worked with HFPR and HH since 1994 when she was a visiting medical student from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed her residency with HFPR in 1997 and served as Chief Resident during her third year of residency. After residency, Dr. McGowen entered private practice in the local community which soon became part of Adventist Health Medical Group. She has worked in outpatient medical practices with both Adventist Health Medical Group and DuPage Medical Group/Duly H&C for 25+ years. As a daughter of two teachers, she loves her teaching role at HFPR and is quite proud of her Galen Award, awarded by HFPR for her teaching role in family medicine. She enjoys the collegial, stimulating, supportive academic environment of HFMR and helping to serve patients.
