Director of Behavioral Health
Jason Knorr is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who joined the faculty team in 2023 as the Director of Behavioral Science. He graduated from Benedictine University with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. He spent the last 25 years in a variety of clinical and administrative roles including residential treatment, community mental health, and private practice.
Prior to arriving at HFMR, he was committed to serving the community as a counselor and administrator with the county health department. One of his most rewarding opportunities involved leading an agency initiative as the project manager of a 4-year federal grant that focused on integrating behavioral health and primary care services for mental health patients with chronic health issues.
Jason’s behavioral science teaching expertise focuses on the biopsychosocial model, evidence-based treatments, and practical approaches to patient-centered care. He utilizes best practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Coactive Coaching, and Motivation Interviewing with an emphasis on creativity and patient values. His appreciation for serving is observable from the positive energy, support, and enthusiasm he brings to the residency.
